Dec. 27Depart Los AngelesUpon your arrival in Lima, you will be met by a driver and transferred to Jose Antonio Executive Hotel. The rest of your afternoon is free.
Dec. 28LimaStart the day with leisurely morning before your tour of the City of the Kings. Visit the historic Plaza Mayor, where you will see the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace. Visit the Casa Aliaga, America's best preserved colonial mansion, occupied by the same family since 1535. Proceed to the San Francisco Monastery, a wonderful work of Colonial architecture. Drive through the residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, where you will enjoy a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and its beaches. Finish the tour with a visit to the Gold Museum; which displays superb examples of pre-Hispanic artifacts.

Dinner at Huaca Pucllana Restaurant. Located in an unparalleled setting within the compound of 1,500 -year old- adobe pyramid built by the original inhabitants of Lima. The restaurant is designed in a rustic colonial style with a lovely dining terrace. The menu is creative Peruvian, with fusion touches spicing up classic criollo cooking. Dec. 29IcaToday we will take a three-and-a-half hour drive south on the Panamerican highway to Paracas Peninsula. Then we proceed with our trip to Ica. We'll take a flight by high-wing light aircraft over the desert and the mysterious Nasca Lines. These can only be appreciated from the air. Made centuries ago, the reason for their existance remains a mystery. Visit the regional museum in Ica, where you'll be able to view its superb collection of archaeological remains, including ceramics, mummies and textiles. These artifacts have been gathered from the Paracas, Nasca, Wari, Ica-Chincha and Inca civilizations. Afterwards transfer to the Paracas Hotel. B
Dec. 30Ballestas IslandsEarly morning departure for the Ballestas Islands, inhabited by boobies, pelicans, sea lions and Humboldt penguins. The boat will leave to in front of the peninsula in order to view the unexplained figures of the Candelabro Lines. Return along the Pacific coast to Lima and the hotel.

Dec. 31Puerto MaldonadoYou will be transferred to the airport, for your flight to Puerto Maldonado; the biodiversity capital of of Perú. After a reception at the airport, you will ride to the city center by bus. You will depart from the port and travel down the Madre de Dios River. Along the riverbanks you will see caimans, turtles, herons and other species of animals. Upon arrival to the Ecoamazonia Lodge, you will be greeted with a welcome drink, after which you will have time to settle in to your bungalows and eat lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit Monkey Island. During your hike through the island you will observe extraordinary scenery and exuberant flora that shelters a tremendous variety of monkeys in their natural habitat, such as the Black Spider Monkey, Capuchin Monkey, Tamarins, Squirrel Monkeys, and the South American Coati, as well as a number of bird species. You will complete your visit to Monkey Island by enjoying the sunset, and then returning to the Lodge for dinner. B, L, D
Jan. 1Ecoamazonia ReserveAfter breakfast you begin your guided adventure through the rainforest on foot to the Lost Cocha. The Lost Cocha is a protected ecosystem sustaining an immense variety of animals such as giant otters, caimans, turtles, Brazilian tapirs sachavacas, colorful birds, the majestic jaguar, and diverse fish species. This area is a unique part of the Ecoamazonia Reserve, because its immense swamps and marshes still remain fully intact today. Later, you will arrive at our extraordinary Amazon Watch Tower, built at the top of an immense tree (the Shihuahuaco) from which you can appreciate the full and magical beauty of the rainforest. You will also go for a pleasant canoe ride around the lake, after which you will return to the Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon there is another canoe trip down the river to visit a local family living in the rainforest. Finally, you will return to the Lodge for dinner. B, L, D
Jan. 2CuscoAfter early breakfast, return trip to Puerto Maldonado and the airport for flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, we will provide assistance and transport you to the JOSE ANTONIO CUSCO. We take a tour of the city, starting out at the Santo Domingo convent monastery. This former Colonial monastery was previously the Koricancha temple, one of the most important temples devoted to worship of the sun. According to the chronicles, it was covered in gold Leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Also included in the tour are stops at the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral. After touring the most interesting sites of the city, you will be driven to the countryside outside Cusco to visit some of the remarkable Inca ruins in the area. Included are the culture centre of Sacsayhuaman, the temple and amphitheatre of Kenko, and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara. B
Jan. 3Sacred ValleyDrive to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas" to visit Ollantaytambo, the Inca fortress, and walk through the quaint streets of the nearby town. Then, take a drive through the valley and bargain with vendors at a typical market in Pisac. Lunch at Tunupa Urubamba Restaurant. Novoandean, national and international dishes. B, L
Jan. 4The Lost CityAfter breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Ollantaytambo train station for your train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, you'll be assisted and will take a 25-minute coach ride to "The Lost City of the Incas", discovered by American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. Then you'll have a guided tour of the marvelous citadel, an awe-inspiring experience. Later, feel free to stroll around the archaeological site. Buffet Lunch. B, L
Jan. 5The Lost CityWe recommend that you wake up early to see the sunrise over Machu Picchu. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. For those interested, you can return to Machu Picchu for a second observation in the early morning. We must meet at the train station in the afternoon, for our return to Poroy by rail. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Cusco. The rest of the evening is free. B, L
Jan. 6CuscoEnjoy a free day about the city of Cusco, maybe do some last minute shopping and explore this Incan town. In Inca times Cusco was both a political capital and religous centre. Since the arrival of the Spanish it has been a city of contrasts; where splendid colonial buildings were erected on the foundations of Inca architecture. This beautiful and culturally rich city was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO, it is also known as the archaeological capital of the Americas. In the afternoon you will be transferred from the hotel to the airport for your flight back to Lima. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner. B, D
